ABOUT SARAH

Sarah Centineo is a nurse attorney running for district 45 in the Nebraska Legislature. She is a dedicated nurse, attorney, mother, wife, and community member. Sarah’s background in healthcare, education, and the law make her an ideal representative for district 45.

Sarah has been a lifelong advocate for children, as a nurse she worked for 15 years at Children’s Hospital where she took care of the most medically fragile children in the pediatric and neonatal intensive care units. She took her passion for caring for vulnerable people and children compelled her to go to law school. She earned her law degree from Creighton University of Law in 2011. She continued her advocacy by representing people harmed through no fault of their own.

Sarah ran for and was elected to the school board in 2016 and 2020. During her tenure on the school board, she has been involved in budgeting, contract negotiations, expanding career and technical learning opportunities, and advocating for the health and educational resources that the students in Bellevue need and deserve. Sarah believes a strong public education system is vital to the success of our community and our state. Sarah has spent countless hours advocating for public education through her roles with Bellevue Public Schools and the Nebraska Association of School Boards.

Sarah is very active in the legal community, and she believes that the legal system should be equally available to all Nebraskans. “Equality before the law” is not just a state motto, but also a deeply held personal conviction for Sarah.

Sarah is a devoted wife and mother to two sons.  In her spare time, you will often find her walking her dogs on Bellevue Boulevard, riding her bike on the trail, and down at the Bellevue Farmer’s market.
